National Literacy Month

Free Resources

Family literacy is at work when two generations or more — parents, children, and/or extended family members – are actively engaged in learning together. The National Center for Families Learning has always worked to hone and create the best family literacy practices and resources to facilitate adults and children learning and achieving together.

For 26 years, we’ve traveled the country to lead, learn from, and work with the best educators, advocates, and policy makers from schools, community-based organizations, and libraries to help empower families to be more engaged in education and community efforts. And, we’ve worked directly with families to align our services and resources with their educational needs and goals.

Each November – National Family Literacy Month – we lift up and celebrate the tireless efforts of family literacy and family-focused programs, and this year we’re shining a spotlight on 10 of NCFL’s partner organizations as they host family learning events in communities across the U.S.
